Everyone in the Netherlands on skates in Gelderland! That is the goal this summer. Now that the world championship skating is coming to the Netherlands this is a possibility you can not pass on. On Sunday the 8th of July you get the chance to participate in the Telegraaf Skate Arnhem!
While the worldchampionship is at its final day, you can skate through the southern city centre. It will be the first ever Skate tour at this location. The course has been made car-free especially for you! So nothing stands in your way to skate as many rounds for Skate4AIR as possible. We want to raise as much money as possible for the research into cystic fibrosis. For each round you skate €1 is donated to Skate4AIR. Each participant will receive a chip to count the laps.
You skate over ‘de Markt’ and of course over the WC 400m course at ‘de Blauwe Golven’. You will pass the Sint-Eusebius Church and you will also ride a section of the marathon course of the professionals. You also flash along the stands where your fans can encourage you to skate even more laps! Of course, you are also encouraged on the way and you will keep your rhythm through the uplifting music. All this in World Cup look & feel with entertainment and food tucks. What are you waiting for? Are you pulling your skates for Skate4AIR? Pay attention! Wearing a helmet is mandatory.
There are 2 blocks Sunday, July 8 so that everyone can skate.
Block 1: 14:30-16:00
You are a real skater and want to circle as many rounds as possible for the good cause in those 1.5 hours. Together with other skaters you have 1.5 hours to do this in the centre of Arnhem. This block is really meant for the experienced skater. Are you not that experienced? No worries, you can participate in block 2.
Block 2: 16:00-17:30
Kids, families and less experienced skaters pull the skates for charity and have a super experience on the course. Whether you skate 1 round or 5, you decide for yourself. Encouragements from the stands, music on the road and all kinds of fun activities such as the Urban activities on ‘de Markt’, make this a special day out! No skates? For children it is possible to rent skates on site. Pay attention! As long as the stock lasts.
